Are you interested in completing the prerequisites for a selective admission program like nursing, surgical technology, etc. Then this program is for you.

After completing our two-year applied associates degree, you will be ready for an entry level position in health care, or to move to the next level in the health care field. If pursuing a bachelor’s degree is of interest, then we can help you transfer your credits to a four-year school.

Our Allied Health degree is designed for those individuals who:

  • Wish to seek a career in a health-related profession or;
  • Have already earned a healthcare certificate and wish to advance within their profession

You will receive a well-rounded education within the health sciences as you will be taught to deliver healthcare as part of a team – complete with improved communication and patient advocacy skills.

Our program also provides the foundational courses necessary for admission into one of HACC’s health science programs or you may just complete our Allied Health AAS program. Note: that if you are interested in enrolling into one of our health science programs, completion of the Allied Health AAS is not necessary for entry into clinical portion of those programs.

It is important for you to know that only those who do not obtain a credential from one of HACC's selective admission healthcare programs may only graduate from the Allied Health AAS program.  

This program prepares you to:

  • Develop an academic background in which the student can locate and understand the theoretical underpinnings of their specialty or scope of practice within Allied Health
  • Improve ability to work effectively as a member of a healthcare team and to understand how allied health professions contribute to healthcare delivery.
  • More effectively advocate on behalf of patients to healthcare practitioners and patient care teams
  • Interact with persons from diverse backgrounds in a culturally competent manner
  • Provide leadership in interprofessional education and practice to improve patient safety and healthcare quality
  • View summaries of every course at HACC by browsing our class schedules database.

Yes! Our associate degree programs are designed to be flexible enough to transfer to a wide variety of colleges and universities with no loss of credit. However, each individual college has its own unique program. We encourage you to select a four-year school as soon as possible. This will allow you to learn the transfer college’s program requirements so you can take the proper classes at HACC.

For your convenience our program may be completed at any one of HACC's campus locations through a variety of mixed modalities (e.g. in-person/on-campus, hybrid, flex, remote instruction and/or virtual learning).

Yes! We offer many scholarships through the HACC Foundation. Each scholarship has specific eligibility requirements. To learn how to apply, please visit hacc.edu/Scholarships.

We offer classes in the spring, summer and fall for your convenience. Visit our website to submit your application at any time. Please include 3700 with your application, so you can make sure you apply to the correct program.
