After graduating with our certificate, you’ll be prepared to apply for entry-level positions, including:

  • Picture archive and communications system (PACS) administrators
  • Radiology information system (RIS) administrators
  • Radiology informatics system (RIS)/PACS sales and support analysts
  • Radiology informatics project managers

After you graduate, you will be prepared to sit for the certification exam, PACS Administrators Registry and Certification Association (PARCA), to obtain the Certified PACS Associate (CPAS) credential. This will look great on YOUR resume!

HACC’s Radiology Informatics Certificate Program:

  • Does not require you to complete general education courses
  • Allows you to successfully enter the workforce without a medical background or advance your career if you’re currently working in the area of Radiology Informatics
  • Provides you with extra skills to add to your resume
  • Prepares you to sit for the certification exam, PACS Administrators Registry and Certification Association (PARCA), to obtain the Certificated PACS Associate (CPAS) credential.

In our program, you’ll learn:

  • Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS) interface and system analysis
  • Project management and quality control
  • Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM)
  • Health Level 7 (HL7) messaging systems
  • Electronic Health Records (EHR)

You will also have the opportunity to design and implement a "PACS Plan" for an imaging department within a healthcare facility. This plan will help you prepare to thrive as a radiologic informatics professional, as well as to pass various industry certification exams that will look great on YOUR resume.

In the program, you will also:

  • Function as an entry-level imaging informatics (PACS) administrator.
  • Demonstrate:
    • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
    • Professional behavior while functioning as an informatics specialist
    • Effective communication skills
    • Effective project management skills
  • Apply imaging informatics legal and ethical standards in the professional environment

Our certificate is designed to lead you directly into the workforce.

However, if you wish to continue your education upon graduation, all the courses within this certificate count towards completion of HACC's Radiology Informatics Associate in Applied Science Degree. Once you complete our associate degree, you may further your education by transferring your credits to a four-year institution and obtain a bachelor’s degree!

You may complete this certificate entirely through asynchronous instruction. This means that as long as deadlines are met, you can complete the required coursework on YOUR time from anywhere.
